What I really appreciate in this photo is the statement it immediately makes concerning *Morafic's height. He is tall! In many of the photos, especially those with Tom McNair; he dwarfs over *Morafic, creating the illusion of a smaller-sized horse. A maternal grandson of Sid Abouhom, *Morafic appears to be influenced by his maternal grandsire, who was recognized by racing fans as "Nabeeh", his exceptional hocks allowing him to drive his powerful body forward, burning up the racetrack before him, just like his sire, El Dere, had also done. On the other side of the pedigree is Mansour, *Morafic's paternal grandsire, who was prepotent for good legs.*Morafic, blessed as he was with the most extraordinary genetic material available at the EAO, matured into a giant among the horses of his time. *Morafic stood 15.2 hands tall (157 cm), a giant in the hearts of the men who loved him. He was their finest work, all for the love of an Arabian horse.
***Many thanks to Brittany N Thompson who posted the photo of *Morafic in the Facebook group, Arabian Horse Shows: The Good Old Days***
