Beyond Binte Aziza MH: The Influence of Aziza Princess All Over the World

When Jamie Zissis of Rosehaven Farm saw BintAzizaPrincess for the first time, the mare made a significant impression upon her. Jamie clearly remembers that BintAzizaPrincess was “an amazing flea-bitten, magnificent mare who looked exactly like my ideal of a desert war mare. She could pivot on a dime and was a gorgeous mover, so proud and bold and impossible to take your eyes off her. One look at her and I knew I wanted to breed this line.” You will remember that BintAzizaPrincess was an Abenhetep daughter out of Aziza Princess, bred by Bill and Georgene Raisner of Azali Arabians in Temecula, California and purchased by Rancho Bulakenyo to incorporate in their breeding program. Her daughter by Richter MH, Binte Aziza MH was a critical mare in Rancho Bulakenyo's breeding program but what about BintAzizaPrincess' other daughters?

Exotic Tremor MH

BintAzizaPrincess produced a full sister to Binte Aziza MH, a beautiful grey mare named Exotic Tremor, whom Jody sold to Al Shaqab in Qatar. Her son by Al Adeed Al Shaqab, Fayad Al Shaqab has returned the influence of this beautiful mare back to Rancho Bulakenyo, as Jody has purchased this exciting young stallion from Al Shaqab in Qatar.

BintAzizaPrincess was also bred to Jabbaar El Halimaar MH and produced the full sisters: Bint Bint Aziza MH who was exported to Qatar and Akilah Princess RAF who was owned by Rosehaven Ranch LLP.

When BintAzizaPrincess was bred to *Maarauder MH, she produced Maarjora MH, who was purchased (in foal to Jabbar El Halimaar MH and producing Baraka Shaarawi) by Ali and Yasmine Shaarawi and exported to their breeding farm, Shaarawi Arabians, located in Abu Ghaleb, Cairo, Egypt.  Impressed by the quality of the offspring that BintAzizaPrincess was producing for him, Jody was also able to lease Aziza Princess in her later years, but he was never able to produce a foal from her.   It was then that Jody sought Aziza Princess’ other daughters, namely the mare Kai-Ann by *Rofann (*Soufian x Bint Romanaa). It is significant to point out that the Gleannloch-bred Bint Romanaa, who enjoyed a successful career in both halter and performance, lived at Rancho Bulakenyo, in retirement, until her death. She was a cherished riding horse for Jody, who was enamored by her willing, kind nature and authentic desert beauty. While it was not possible to obtain a foal directly from Bint Romanaa for the Rancho Bulakenyo program, it was through her son and her paternal granddaughter, that her bloodline influenced Rancho Bulakenyo the way it has.
Romanaa Maara MH
Kai-Ann, when bred to El Halimaar, produced Romanaa Maara MH for Rancho Bulakenyo, before she was sold to Saudi Arabia.  Romanaa Maara MH, when bred to *Hadban Al Shaqab produced Binte Romanaa MH, the dam of Amira Kahila MH, who is now part of Jamie Zissis’ breeding program at Rosehaven Arabian Farm.  The other Aziza Princess daughter added to the program was BintAzizaPrincess’ full sister, AZ Angelique, whom he bred to the El Halimaar son, Jabbaar El Halimaar MH and produced the mare, Azali Princess MH, who was owned by Rosehaven Ranch LLP. Looking forward to the future, the promise of which is very exciting for Rancho Bulakenyo, as we watch this family of horses continue to spread their influence farther within the straight Egyptian gene pool, while offering breeders a combination of blood that they would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
